escribed by the Chicago Tribune as “Exceptional” and “Razor Sharp” Dana Solimando’s work as a choreographer, director, performer, and teacher has run the gamut from Broadway to TV and film.
Her Broadway credits include Cats as “Rumpleteazer”, Swing! as the Country Swing girl and Peter Pan as “Tiger Lily”. She has also performed in numerous other national tours, regional, and international theatre productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, A Chorus Line, Grease, Sugar Babies, Gypsy, Oklahoma! and Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular NYC. Dana has also performed with artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Daphne Rubin Vega and Sheryl Crow and has been seen on The Today show, VH-1, MTV, General Hospital and Days of Our Lives. She can also be seen as “Tiger Lily” on the A&E film adaptation of Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby and in 1999 was recognized as Dance Spirit Magazine’s Rising Star as well as Playbill’s Star Of The Month. As director/choreographer, Dana’s awards include three LA Stage Alliance Ovation awards for Swing! (2004 & 2006 Best Choreography/ 2002 Best Ensemble), NAACP Theatre Award nomination for Andrew Lloyd Weber’s revival of Jesus Christ Superstar starring the late Carl Anderson (Best Choreography) and a two time Stage Scene LA award winner (Best Choreographer 2010-11 and Choreographer of the Year 2009-10). She has also directed and choreographed numerous productions of Cats around the country. Other choreography credits include the premier of South Street at the Pasadena Playhouse, All Shook Up, Little Shop of Horrors, South Street, Buddy, Oliver, Too Old For The Chorus, Hairspray, Miss Saigon, Spring Awakening, Parade, and Wizard of Oz. Also a director/choreographer for Crystal Cruises she mounted two new shows: Route 66 and I Write The Songs. Before her professional career, Dana was a dance instructor for Phil Black/Dance Central Station prior to their move to the renowned Broadway Dance Center, as well as for American Musical and Dramatic Academy NYC
