THE FOX ON THE FAIRWAY Plays WPPAC, Now thru 6/1

The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) invites you to laugh off your golf shirt at the NY Regional Premiere of THE FOX ON THE FAIRWAY, a tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, which will be onstage from today, May 16 - June 1.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Countess of Storyville, LLC has announced complete casting for its upcoming developmental workshop of The Countess of Storyville, a new musical by Martin Silvestri (music), Joel Higgins (lyrics) andR.M. Cohen (book). This epic story of lust, love, mystery and murder will begin performances on February 12, 2014 at The Peter J. Deborah Cox to Lead Amas Musical Theatre's COUNTESS OF STORYVILLE Workshop, 2/12-14

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Countess of Storyville, LLC will present a developmental workshop of The Countess of Storyville, a new musical by R.M. Cohen (book), Martin Silvestri (music), and Joel Higgins (lyrics). This epic story of lust, love, mystery and murder will feature Tony Award nominee Vivian Reed and Grammy Award nominee Deborah Cox leading a cast of 23. Performances are set to begin on February 12, 2014 at The Peter J. Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) and continue through February 14. Lynne Taylor-Corbett directs.

The Bible's most notorious traitor is put on trial in a present-day urban courtroom in a darkly funny look at the meaning of redemption by playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. Director Josh T. Ryan (Zombie Joe's Underground) takes the reins, upping the ante to create a lean, complex and gritty revival at the Hudson Mainstage, opening tonight, July 19.

Producer Dee Smith's vision for doing THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT came to her during a trip to Rome, Italy long before Pope Benedict decided to call it quits. She had been cast in another LA production several years ago, but she, along with several other cast members left the production early in the process. On March 1st, the controversial and much talked about Stephen Adly Guirgis play opened at The Victory Theatre Center (Big Victory) and will continue through until April 6th. Producer Dee Smith's vision for doing THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT came to her during a trip to Rome, Italy long before Pope Benedict decided to call it quits. WORKSHOP THEATER COMPANY in conjunction with JEM THEATRICALS is presenting the world premiere production of MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, a new family musical comedy. The musical, with book by Kate Feiffer and MJ Bruder Munafo, music by Paul Jacobs, lyrics by Sarah Durkee, is based on the acclaimed picture book MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, by Kate Feiffer with illustrations by Diane Goode (Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books). The musical will be directed by Debbi Katz and choreographed by Danyelle Demchock of the Young Performers Dance Academy. MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE will play a four-week limited engagement at the WorkShop Theater (312 West 36th Street). Performances begin today, February 16 at 12 pm and continue through Sunday, March 10 at 3 pm. Press are invited to all performances.
Patrick Riviere to Join Cast of THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT at Victory Theatre, 3/1-4/6

Patrick Riviere, who is in the midst of directing the epic drama by Stephen Adly Guirgis, about Judas's trial in a courtroom in Purgatory, is now adding the double duty of also playing The Judge and Caiaphas the Elder after several other actors had film and TV prospects come their way.

Pulitzer Prize winning author and journalist William Kennedy was the guest of honor at a special toast at popular Theater District eatery, Trattoria Dopo Teatro. Longtime friend and noted film and theater producer Barbara Ligeti along with Trattoria Dopo Teatro owners architect Emilio Barletta & Giuseppe Manica hosted the reception to salute the author on the release of his eagerly anticipated new novel, 'Chango's Beads and Two Toned Shoes'.

DRACULA Closes After 7 Performances; Played Final Show Jan. 9

DRACULA by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, based on the novel by Bram Stoker, played its final performance on Sunday, January 9 at the Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street).
Rialto Chatter: DRACULA To Close This Weekend?

It looks like off-Broadway's DRACULA, playing at the Little Shubert might have a shorter run than originally announced. The show, which just opened on January 5, was originally scheduled to close on March 13. Now, after speculation in the NY Post this morning about an early end for the revival, Telecharge.com is only offering tickets for the show through January 9.

Count Dracula, the world's most famous vampire, returns to the New York stage in DRACULA by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, based on the eponymous novel by Bram Stoker, began previews December 14, prior to its official press opening January 5 at the Little Shubert Theatre (442 West 42nd Street). Paul Alexander directs the new production.
