BIO

Theater of the Stars in Atlanta summer and seasonal tours: Disney’s High School Musical 1 & 2, White Christmas (4 tours), 42nd Street, Sound of Music, Fiddler On The Roof, The Producers, The King and I.

Dan Zittel – Stage Manager – is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association since 1976. He holds a BA from Fordham University and an MFA in Directing from Catholic University in Wash., DC. His stage management credits run the gambit of Equity’s contracts from Theatre for Young Audiences to Production, from being an 2nd ASM to PSM. His recent credits include his 50th production for The Cape Playhouse as Advance Stage Manager. Some of Dan’s touring credits include Disney’s High School Musical 1 and 2, White Christmas (4x), 42nd Street, Sound of Music, Fiddler, Man of La Mancha starring Jack Jones & The Value of Names with Jack Klugman and much more. Off-Broadway he worked for The Public Theatre, Playwrights’ Horizons, The Barrow Street Theatre (Orson’s Shadow), The Women’s Project, Cherry Lane, City Center, Sundance Theatre Institute, and The York Theatre (The Musical of Musicals). His Regional companies include The Barter, The McCarter, Caldwell, Riverside in Fla., Olney, Theatre By The Sea & Two River theaters. Dan’s Stock theatres include The Cape Playhouse, Ogunquit, Westport, Music Theater of Wichita (12 productions), West Virginia Public Theatre, Mountain Playhouse & Starlight Theatre (8 productions).
For six years he was the Production Coordinator at The Kennedy Center for the American College Theatre Festival. He is very grateful to his mentor and dear friend Charlie Davisson.

BWW Review: Hamlisch Tribute Offers Smiles for a Summer's Night

The Cape Playhouse in Dennis Village is offering a bouquet of smiles for a summer's night with the world premiere of David Zippel's tribute show, THEY'RE PLAYING HIS SONGS: THE MUSIC OF MARVIN HAMLISCH, honoring both the man and his music. This bittersweet labor of love features the virtuoso piano accompaniment of Musical Director Christopher Marlowe, the talents of four singer/actors who all worked with Hamlisch during their careers, and entertaining video clips of the composer commenting on a range of subjects.
