Lifeline Theatre to Present ONE CAME HOME in 2015
Lifeline Theatre presents a world premiere adaptation of Amy Timberlake's Edgar Award-winning and Newbery Honor book, One Came Home, by Jessica Wright Buha, directed by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Elise Kauzlaric (Non-Equity Jeff Award nominee for Mariette in Ecstasy). During the great passenger pigeon migration of 1871, throngs of strangers descend upon Placid, Wisconsin, bringing prosperity in their wake. But as the skies clear, tragedy strikes and Georgie Burkhardt's sister goes missing. When a body is found and the town goes into mourning, Georgie sets out to uncover the truth behind Agatha's disappearance. The journey that follows, both humorous and heartbreaking, will test the limits of her courage and the strength of her character. A powerful coming-of-age tale combines live music with historical events in a world premiere adaption based on the 2013 novel by Chicago author Amy Timberlake. The production runs approximately two hours with one intermission. The book will be on sale in the lobby. One Came Home runs February 13-April 5, 2014 at Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Lifeline Theatre presents a world premiere adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, by ensemble member Christopher M. Walsh, and directed by ensemble member Elise Kauzlaric (Non-Equity Jeff Award nominee for Mariette in Ecstasy). The Reign of Terror sweeps through Paris, destroying both the high and low, and two Londoners are confronted with impossible choices. Will former aristocrat Charles Darnay abandon his family and brave the revolutionary storm to protect an innocent man? And can depressive barrister Sydney Carton find the strength to make the ultimate sacrifice for the unrequited love of his life? Darnay and Carton join a host of unforgettable characters in this passionate tale of soldiers and servants, revolutionaries and the nobility, set against a backdrop of violent social upheaval. An epic story of resurrection and redemption, brought to life by a cast of ten actors, including Lifeline Theatre ensemble members Chris Hainsworth and Katie McLean Hainsworth.

LiveWire Chicago Theatre 'gets technical' at VisionFest 5: Johnny 5 Is Alive, ten short plays inspired by technology's influence on society (or what happens when things short circuit). The fifth annual festival will be presented now through August 2, 2013 at INTUIT - The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Each play will be staged in a different area of the multi-room gallery, with drinking and mingling encouraged as audiences move from play to play. Bohemian Theatre Ensemble and The Hypocrites Top List of Jeff Nominations
The Jeff Awards Committee today announced 120 nominations in 25 categories of Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2012, and March 31, 2013. The Non-Equity Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract. Jeff judges attended opening nights of 146 productions offered by 65 Non-Equity producing organizations. The judges recommended 54 of those shows, making them eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award nominations. Thirty-three theatre companies received nominations.
