BIO

Dan Manjovi:
Studied Music at N.Y.U., and Composition at The Julliard School; trained as an actor at HB Studio and Ensemble Studio Theatre. Faculty: HB Studio, New York, NY and Private Vocal Studio (Dan Manjovi Music LLC). Is a pianist, musical director, singer, actor, and composer. Regional credits include: Manny in MASTER CLASS (Denver Center Theatre Company, Arizona Theatre Company); Buddy in GUN METAL BLUES (Oregon Cabaret Theatre); David Stone in SWING STREET (Dorset Theatre Festival). Member, New Jersey Repertory Theatre Company. Dan appeared in the New York premiere of THE END the last work written by George Furth (Company, Merrily We Roll Along). Film credits include: BULLETS OVER BROADWAY and MIGHTY APHRODITE; character work in numerous industrials. Music Direction for The Disney Company, New Stage Theater, and numerous cabaret/club acts, including special appearances with Donna Summer and Grace Hightower. Librettist, Lyricist, Composer for I AM, I WILL, I DO; original songs performed by Michael Feinstein; original song “Somethin’s Comin’ My Way” featured in 2009 Lionsgate Oscar -nominated film and soundtrack Precious: Based On The Novel Push by Sapphire. Lambda Literary is pleased to announce that John Waters will receive Lambda's Trustee Award for Excellence in Literature an Rita Mae Brown will receive the Pioneer Award at the 27th Annual Lambda Literary Awards ('Lammys'). Waters and Brown will be honored along with the winning authors of 24 separate LGBT literary categories as determined by over 90 judges.
