Raquel Cion to Perform at Pangea in March
Brooklyn-based performer, Raquel Cion, is poised for her March 2020 performances of her alt-cabaret, Me & Mr. Jones: My Intimate Relationship with David Bowie at Pangea, located at 178 Second Avenue New York, NY 10003. The 90-minute cabaret explores the lifelong 'soul love' that Cion has for David Bowie's artistry and David Jones's humanity.
Raquel Cion Reprises ME & MR. JONES In Theatrical Run At Pangea
a?oeMe & Mr. Jones,a?? Raquel Cion's Pangea-incubated nightclub ode to David Bowie, returns to Pangea for a three-month theatrical engagement from January 16 to March 14. Written and performed by Cion, directed by Cynthia Cahill, with music director Karl Saint Lucy on piano, the deeply personal exploration of Bowie's life of music and invention also features the musicians Jeremy Bass (guitar), Michael Ryan Morales (drums), and Daniel Shuman (bass).
NYU Steinhardt To Stage GUYS AND DOLLS
NYU Steinhardt's Program in Vocal Performance will present the musical Guys and Dolls from September 20-24, 2018. The show features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, and is based on a story and characters of Damon Runyon. Annika Boras directs and Cynthia Cahill is the associate director.

Downtown supper-club Pangea is gearing up for the momentous events coming up in November with a number of shows from some of our signature artists that remind us how important it is to treat each other with dignity and fairness. In October the East Village Mecca for cutting edge cabaret, song and performance, which The NY Times calls, "a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by," presents premieres by Tammy Faye Starlite, Salty Brine, and Rachelle Garniez. Faran Tahir Returns to Shakespeare Theatre Company to Play OTHELLO at Free For All
The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) Free For All, one of the capital's most beloved annual traditions offering free performances of a Shakespearean classic to the general public each summer, will return next month with the Company's 2016 production of William Shakespeare's Othello. Helmed by internationally acclaimed director Ron Daniels and starring screen actor Faran Tahir in the titular role, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St. NW) from August 15-27, offering more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.
