BIO

COREY BOARDMAN can currently be seen in the much anticipated off-Broadway run of Stephen King's, Carrie at the Lucille Lortel Theater. Most recently, Corey finished an extended run of Outlaws: The Ballad of Billy the Kid, as Billy, in the New York Musical Theater Festival. Of the production, Backstage wrote, "This Billy is not unlike the antihero immortalized by James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause." Other theater highlights include Academy in South Korea (where he won a DIMF award for Best Supporting Actor), Florida, and NYMF (Best Ensemble), the original off-Broadway run of Next To Normal, and Matthew in Altar Boyz at New World Stages. He has also been involved with numerous workshops, including Ace, Bare, and the High School Musical franchise. Corey can be seen this spring on season 3 of the Adult Swim hit, Delocated and also on a Windows 7 national commercial. Corey is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ghostlight Records announced today that they will go into the recording studio with the cast of Carrie next week, April 17, to record the first-ever cast album. Release dates for the album will be announced at a later time.

The New York Times reports tonight that 'the creators and MCC said one successful result of the revival is that the musical would become a licensable property available for productions at high schools, colleges and regional theaters. After the 1988 Broadway production closed, the creators were so devastated that they refused hundreds of requests by directors and theater companies to stage "Carrie" until Mr. Arima pitched his vision. Now the creators are ready to say yes to productions, and are already talking to one - SpeakEasy Stage Company in Boston - about doing "Carrie" next spring.'
