BIO
COLTON POMETTA is an international stage director based in Manhattan. His original work has been seen in nine different time zones, on three continents.
International credits include the first Spanish adaptation of Adam Gwon’s 'Ordinary Days' in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the French premiere of 'Ordinary Days' at La Comédie Nation, 'Island Song' at Broadway au Carré in Paris, and 'The Tale of Sally McLaureen' at Edinburgh Fringe.
Passionate about collaborating with contemporary writers, in NYC he has directed new work at Cherry Lane Theater, Second Stage Uptown, Primary Stages ESPA, 54 Below, Joe's Pub, Write Act Rep, and The Triad.
Other directing credits: The Comedy of Errors (Sun Valley Shakespeare), The Weir and Outside Mullingar (The Argyros) Buyer and Cellar (Sawtooth Productions), He Said/She Said (National TYA Tour), Wanda's World (Off-Bway and Tour), South Pacific (Maples Rep), All Fall Down (Write Act Rep), a full season of shows for young audiences at Surflight Theater, and Georges Bizet’s Carmen (New York Opera Exchange).

Young Playwrights Get a Chance On the Broadway Stage
In the Playmaking program, children from the Chelsea public school PS 11 enroll in a 12-week playwriting course, led by Daniel Judah Sklar and Kim Greene. The program was originally developed in conjunction with Circle in the Square Theatre School, and adapted from Daniel Sklar's book, Playmaking: Children Writing and Performing Their Own Plays. Six weeks through the workshop, each child finishes his/her own imaginative play. Professional actors then read each one aloud. They also help the kids transform their first scripts into realistic ones. All the final plays are rehearsed, and then performed on the Broadway stage at Circle in the Square.
