InterAct Theatre Presents The World Premiere Of SETTLEMENTS!
InterAct Theatre Company continues its 2021-2022 season with SETTLEMENTS, a “world premiere” play by InterAct's founding Producing Artistic Director, Seth Rozin. SETTLEMENTS marks InterAct's 3rd live, in-person production since returning from the pandemic shutdown, following on the heels of its critically acclaimed THIS BITTER EARTH in February 2022.

Greenhouse Theater Center and Poor Box Theater, in association with D.C's award winning Taffety Punk Theatre Company, is pleased to present THE AMERICAN MERCY TOUR: MERCY KILLERS and SIDE EFFECTS, two one-act plays steeped in America's controversial relationship with healthcare. Written and performed by Michael Milligan and directed by Tom Oppenheim, these moving and unapologetic pieces will be presented as a single theatrical event, immersing the audience in the stories of patients and physicians, coming out of the waiting room and into the fray.
PolitiKos 2015 Set for 11/5-8 at The Kraine Theater
politiKos 2015 (Israela Margalit, Founding Artistic Director) NYC's only political theater festival, , is happy to announce five special guest poets as part of their OPEN MIC event on Thursday, November 5th. Poets will include Advocate of Wordz (Nuyorican Slam Team Member), MuMs da Schemer (star of the HBO series OZ),Mahogany Browne (Slam Mistress of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe), Yadira De La Riva (Jerome Foundation Grantee), and Adam Bowser "ShadowKat" (2-time Grand Slam Nuyorican Finalist). The event will be hosted by Darian Dauchan (New Word Artist for Urban Word NYC) and open to anyone who wants to sign up and participate.
PolitiKos 2015 Set for the Kraine Theater, 11/5-8
FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Moonlight Theatre Productions will present the first annual politiKos 2015 (founding Artistic Director, Israela Margalit), a new political theater festival of drama, comedy, satire, songs, and opinions from left, right and center, that gives voice to celebrated as well as to emerging playwrights, poets, and performers. This year's festival will feature work by Arthur Kopit, Dominique Morisseau, Brian Dykstra, Michael Bradford, Libby Emmons, Israela Margalit, Colin Greer, Darian Dauchan, Up and Down Theater, and The Living Theater, under directors John Eisner, Margarett Perry, John-Martin Green, and Christina Russos. politiKos is about politics in the broadest sense of the word, hence the "K" from the Greek: of, for, or relating to citizens.

The prominent and provocative racial justice scholar Cornel West is a well-known intellectual, but less well known is his love of Chekhov, the writings of Stella Adler and the theater. Dr. West values arts education for disadvantaged youth and is an aficionado of legendary acting teacher Stella Adler. As part of the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, Dr. West will participate in a panel discussion about the relationship between access to arts education and economic and social justice. The panel will follow a performance of Julius Caesar by students of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting's Outreach Division.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting presents "Imagining Heschel," a new play that explores the relationship between the renowned philosopher and religious leader Abraham Joshua Heschel, and the highly influential priest of Vatican II, Cardinal Augustin Bea. The play opens Saturday, January 28, 2012.
