Shepherd University's contemporary theater studies program announces its production of The Thanksgiving Play. The comedy will be professionally performed on Broadway in 2023. The Shepherd University production will be the regional premiere.

Halloween Horror Hits New Heights In The Snapshots Collective's SWEENEY TODD
Just in time for Halloween, The Snapshots Collective presents the ghoulish musical thriller Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street from October 10-31, 2018 at Mrs. Lovett's Pie Shop in Vancouver's historic Gastown. In this immersive, site-specific production, audiences will get up close and personal with the demon barber himself. Featuring an incredible cast of accomplished performers, visionary director Chris Adams and award-winning choreographer Nicol Spinola tell the gruesome tale of Sweeney Todd, a tormented man bent on revenge and his unholy alliance with the resourceful pie-maker, Mrs. Lovett. Halloween thrill-seekers will delight in this macabre journey of murder, music, and seriously sinister pies.
BWW Previews: CAKEWALK at Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival
CAKEWALK is an official selection of the 2017 Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival. With lyrics and a book by Beverly Trader Austin and mucic by Bryan Mercer, the new musical will have its world premiere on July 31 at Out Front Theatre.
Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival-Selections Announced
The Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival is thrilled to announce the selections for the Second Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), which will be held July 30 and 31, and August 1, 2017, at Out Front Theatre. The AMTF will be three nights of original musical theatre performances by local artists, as well as showcase performances of professional productions and educational groups. Performances will be open to the artistic community, the public, and the press. Twenty-two submissions were accepted and three shows have been selected for the second annual event. Tickets are $15-45 (not including taxes and fees), and will go on sale June 19th at www.TheAMTF.com. All three productions will be performed at Out Front Theatre, at 8pm on Sunday, July 30, Monday, July 31 and Tuesday, August 1. Out Front Theatre is located at 999 Brady Avenue Atlanta, GA 30318.
Kitchen Theatre Company Raises Over $190,000 to 'Burn the Mortgage'
Kitchen Theatre Company's Board of Directors honored retiring Artistic Director Rachel Lampert with an appropriately theatrical ceremony in which the building's mortgage was 'burned.' In attendance were community members and representatives of organizations who donated to the over $190,000 Burn the Mortgage campaign.
