Clint Butler is a classically-trained Canadian actor, born and raised on the beautifully rugged east coast island of Newfoundland (and Labrador).
Trained initially for Musical Theatre, Clint began his performance career as a lead vocalist in the American cruise industry. Since then, he has performed on stages in Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, London, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, and St. John's, as well as other great Canadian towns.
?
A member of Canadian Actors Equity and ACTRA, Clint's career spans from workshopping and originating new Canadian stage roles to Sci-Fi television and independent dramatic shorts.
?
Most recently, his performances as "Harry" in Winnipeg's Rainbow Stage production of Mamma Mia singing opposite musical theatre star Ma-Anne Dionisio, and coincidentally, “Bill” in Halifax’s Neptune Theatre’s production opposite Other dad’s Jay Davis and Tim Funnell have garnered him glowing reviews.
His role as "Eddie" in the haunting short film Last Vestiges also garnered attention in the queer festival circuits in both Toronto and Montreal, the Czech Republic, and Wales -- where it was nominated for the prestigious Iris Prize.
Notable credits: Guest Starring as Doug Randall in season five of Republic of Doyle (CBC); appearing as the grotesque and mysterious "Archivist" in season four of Lost Girl (Showcase/Syfy); and touring as "Bergeron" in Artistic Fraud's critically acclaimed staging of Robert Chafe's Oil and Water (Resource Centre for the Arts, Factory Theatre, Magnetic North, Neptune Theatre, The Grand Theatre, and Canada's National Arts Centre), for which he has also been published as an original cast member.
?
Next Up: Playing "Schlafer” in the widely anticipated, truth-based KAMP: The Musical, a co-pro between Halifax’s Eastern Front and Neptune Theatres
??
Aside from performance training, Clint holds joint degrees in English and business administration, as well a diploma in performance and communications media, with a focus on documentary production.
?
A proud dog owner and collector of Canadian contemporary artwork, Clint now lives in Toronto where he continues to audition and to create.
