The Adobe Theater to Present THE CURIOUS SAVAGE

The Curious Savage opens Friday, July 15th and plays 4 weekends through Sunday, August 7th, 2016. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm, with a 'Pay What You Will' performance (proceeds are shared between the cast and crew) on Thursday, July 28th, at 7.30pm. Adobe Theater to Present THE NIGHT THOREAU SPENT IN JAIL

The Adobe Theater's first production of 2015 is The Night Thoreau Spent In Jail, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee (authors of "Inherit The Wind"; "Auntie Mame"; and "First Monday In October"). The play is based on Henry David Thoreau's refusal to pay what he considered a 'war tax' for The Mexican-American War. Writing in the New York Times, theater critic Howard Taubman described the ideological relevance of the play to contemporary audiences by stating 'this play and its protagonist, though they are of the 19th century, are speaking to today's concerns: an unwanted war in another land, civil disobedience, the interdependence of man and nature, education, the role of government, and the governed."

Slightly Altered States Theater Company presents the World Premiere of MR. LANDING TAKES A FALL, an absurdist comedy by Sari Caine, directed by Sherri Eden Barber. Inspired by Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the play was a PlayPenn 2013 semi-finalist and short-listed for both the 24/7 (UK) and the Ronald Duncan Award (UK). Previews begin tonight, September 12 at The Flea Theater with opening slated for Monday, September 22.
Kathryn Rossetter to Join Adam LeFevre in MR. LANDING TAKES A FALL, Begin. 9/12

Kathryn Rossetter, who appeared on Broadway opposite Dustin Hoffman in Death Of a Salesman and is currently head of the MFA Acting Program at the New School for Drama, will join Adam LeFevre (Broadway's Footloose, Mamma Mia, Guys and Dolls) in the World Premiere of MR. LANDING TAKES A FALL, an absurdist comedy by Sari Caine. Inspired by Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the play was a PlayPenn 2013 semi-finalist and short-listed for both the 24/7 (UK) and the Ronald Duncan Award (UK).
