Building on the legacy of artists helping artists on Long Island's East End, a new artist relief effort launches today to support visual artists, choreographers, musicians, and writers living and working in the region, who are being adversely affected by COVID-19.
ODC Theater Announces 2017 Season
ODC, the most active center for contemporary dance on the West Coast, has announced the program for its 2017 Theater Season. Highlights include world premieres by David Gordon, FACT/SF, Monique Jenkinson, tinypistol, Laura Elaine Ellis and Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts, and West Coast premieres by Kate Weare Company and The Foundry. Additional season highlights include remounts of seminal works by Joanna Haigood and RAWdance.

Performance Artist Laurie Anderson to Receive 2015 Yaddo Artist Medal; Steve Buscemi to Host Benefit
Yaddo has announced that the second annual Yaddo Artist Medal will be presented to influential avant-garde composer and performance artist Laurie Anderson at its New York City Benefit on Monday, June 1, 2015. The event at the Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses St.) will be hosted by actor/director Steve Buscemi and Kate Valk of The Wooster Group. Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar, Obie Award winner Eisa Davis, and Obie Award winner Young Jean Lee-all Yaddo Artists-will perform.

Clifford Ross Incorporates Cinema 4D into 'The Austin Wall' Project
MAXON, the leading developer of professional 3D modeling, painting, animation and rendering solutions, is pleased to announce that renowned artist Clifford Ross has incorporated its acclaimed CINEMA 4D software technology in the design process of The Austin Wall, a monumental and unprecedented stained glass work housed at the new United States Courthouse in Austin, Texas. Integrated into the architecture of the new courthouse, the wall stands approximately 28 feet wide by 28 feet high and weighs about 5,840 pounds, and was aided by CINEMA 4D's fast and efficient procedural animation capabilities for a simultaneously realistic and colorfully abstract effect. The Austin Wall was unveiled on June 18, 2013 in Austin, Texas.

The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by American Express, today announced the participants of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program, sponsored by CHANEL. Twelve contemporary artists, including Stephen Hannock, David Kratz, Curtis Kulig, Gillian Laub, Robert Longo, Angelina Nasso, Erik Parker, Jose Parla, Joyce Pensato, Clifford Ross, William Wegman and Dustin Yellin will donate their artwork to be presented to the filmmakers whose films are selected by the TFF jury as winners in their respective categories. The Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program was created by TFF co-founder Jane Rosenthal to celebrate New York artists. This year's TFF will run April 17-28, 2013.

The annual event, which celebrates The New Victory Education Program, began with a performance honoring Henson at The New Victory Theater, 209 West 42nd Street. Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia (Avenue Q) hosted the evening featuring Joey Arias in a performance directed by Basil Twist; from 'Sesame Street' Big Bird and Telly Monster; cast members from Cummins and Scoullar's The Little Prince; Heather Henson and IBEX Puppetry; Tony Award winner Bill Irwin; Ralph Lee's Mettawee River Theatre Company; dancer/choreographer David Neumann; On the Lam Street Band; and the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
