The HK Phil Raises HK$2,000,000 With 2019 Fundraising Concert

Following the continuous success of our past fundraising concerts, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) organised the annual Fundraising Concert at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 30 March 2019 (Saturday). The concert raised over HK$2,000,000 to support the HK Phil's extensive education and outreach programmes, nurturing the young generation with world class orchestral music.
Israel Film Festival in Los Angeles Announces Programming, Actors, Filmmakers

The 32nd Israel Film Festival in Los Angeles, the largest showcase of Israeli cinema in the United States, will present from November 6th – 20th over 40 Israeli narrative films, documentaries, short films and television series as well as in-person appearances from more than 25 of today's leading Israeli filmmakers and talent. Along with hosting U.S. and west coast premiere showings, the Festival programming will include filmmaker tributes, its first ever co-presentation with the Skirball Cultural Center as well as select films reflective of both Jewish and Israeli living, the #MeToo Movement, the hip hop music scene, portraits of influential cultural leaders and sexual identity, announced Israel Film Festival Founder/Executive Director Meir Fenigstein.
Fort Worth Opera Announces World Premiere Opera COMPANIONSHIP & Full Casting For 2019 Festival Season

Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the casts and creative teams for the 2019 Festival season, including the world premiere of composer-librettist Rachel J. Peters's delightfully wicked opera, Companionship. Adapted from the short story by internationally bestselling author Arthur Phillips, this delicious dark comedy about an obsession with dough, mirrors our modern world, where what we consume becomes all-consuming. Selected as a winner of the 2018 FWOpera Frontiers showcase, the work will receive a fully staged production next spring at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, as part of FWOpera's alternative venue series, Opera Unbound.

Join us in the park! Curtain Players is pleased to present Ara Vito's ALICE: A variation on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland in partnership with Westerville Parks & Recreation. Alice: A Variation on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is a new take on Carroll's classic tales crafting a story of a young girl named Alice Pleasance Liddell and the relationship she develops with Charles Dodgson (alias Lewis Carroll). Overcoming her parents' stifling indifference, Alice discovers her creativity through adventures on the other side of the looking glass, conquering her fears as she approaches a vision of her true self.  The play is framed within a conversation between Carroll and Liddell, who was the inspiration for the fictional Alice character. Performances run June 15th thru 24 th at 8:00 pm.  Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets as it's all free lawn seating (donations accepted). Parking will be available in the park along Alum Park Drive (accessible from W. Main Street) and on the lawn near the amphitheater (as accessed from Alum Park Dr.)  Please visit www.curtainplayers.org.

State of the Art's Production Theater Company presents the award winning Broadway musical 'The 1940's Radio Hour,' by Walton Jones. 'The 1940's Radio Hour' is full of music, dancing, live commercials and old-time sound effects. Centered around a troupe of radio performers, 'The 1940's Radio Hour' presents the final holiday broadcast of the Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade on the New York radio station WOV in December 1942. One part 'A Prairie Home Companion,' and one part USO SHOW, 'The 1940's Radio Hour,' promises to be a fun-filled evening of musical comedy featuring time honored classics, like, 'Love Is Here To Stay,' 'That Old Black Magic,' 'Blues In The Night,' 'The 5 O'Clock Whistle,' and many more!!
