Inis Nua Theatre presents the American Premiere of the award-winning play A HUNDRED WORDS FOR SNOW by Tatty Hennessy. A HUNDRED WORDS FOR SNOW is a funny and moving one-person show that tells the story of 15-year-old Rory whose geography teacher father has recently died. Struggling with this sudden loss, she decides to pursue his lifelong dream and journey to the North Pole. Following the route he planned and the advice of the great explorers before her, Rory packs a rucksack and her father's ashes for a journey of love, loss, and endless snow. The production will be directed by three-time Barrymore Award-nominated director and Inis Nua Associate Director and Literary Manager Claire Moyer. Previews begin Wednesday, February 5, with opening night on Friday, February 7. The show runs through February 23, 2020 for a total of 15 performances. Following the successful run of A Small Fire, with Bebe Neuwirth, Philadelphia Theatre Company next focuses on the season selection process. The company welcomes audiences to its annual See & Be Scene, a one-night only staged-reading showcase, on Monday, December 2 at 7:00 pm. Now in its third year, Producing Artistic Director Paige Price is looking to add a selection of comedies and musicals into the mix. Eight works will be showcased.

Lantern Theater Company announces its upcoming 2019/20 season, which will include an ambitious and eclectic mix of classic, contemporary, and new work for the stage. The five plays that comprise the company's mainstage season include Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, a brilliant drama about politics and fear that remains an instructive parable today; the Philadelphia premiere of Anna Zieger's The Last Match, a funny and moving drama from the author of the Lantern's smash hit Photograph 51; the Philadelphia premiere of The Vertical Hour by renowned British playwright David Hare, a sophisticated drama about the shifting alliances of family; William Shakespeare's tragedy Othello; and a world premiere adaptation of Moliere's The Misanthrope. This new adaptation by revered Philadelphia theater artist Peter DeLaurier will enthrall audiences as the action moves to modern-day Washington, D.C.
Inis Nua Theatre Kicks Off 15th Anniversary Season With MONSTER IN THE HALL
Inis Nua Theatre Company will open its 15th anniversary season with the Philadelphia premiere of The Monster in the Hall, written by Scottish playwright David Greig. This funny musical play about family, love and really big motorcycles is the second production Inis Nua will stage by Grieg, following the company's 2014 breakout hit Midsummer [a play with songs]. Midsummer went on to earn four Barrymore Award nominations. Monster will be directed by Claire Moyer and stars Claris Park, Doug Durlacher, Eleni Delopoulos and Jamison Foreman. Previews run October 3 and 4, with Opening Night set for October 5, 2018. The show runs until October 21 for a total of 15 performances. Inis Nua Theatre Presents American Premiere of SWALLOW by Stef Smith
Inis Nua Theatre Company ends the 2016-2017 mainstage season with the American premiere of Swallow by Stef Smith. From Scotland, Swallow follows three lives intricately connected and the quiet, traumatic struggles of being human. Swallow was a 2015 Fringe First Winner and received the Scottish Arts Club Theatre Award. The Scotsman called the play, "An elegant and glowing piece of twenty-first century magic realism." Swallow opens at the Proscenium Theater at The Drake (302 South Hicks Street) on April 28th, with preview performances on April 26th and 27th.
