The Group Rep's production of AVENUE Q played to sold out houses opening weekend at the Lonny Chapman Theatre. The Tony Award-winning musical, with music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, Book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Lopez and Marx, Orchestrations by Stephen Oremus, directed by Patrick Burke, produced by Drina Durazo and Kevin Hoffman, Jr., Music Direction by Paul Cady, and Choreography by Michele Bernath has quickly become a Critics Pick.

This romantic fantasy, set in royal court and enchanted forest, weaves together four plots all joined to the upcoming nuptials of the Duke and his Amazon queen. Under the light of the moon, we're privy to the magical adventures of four young Athenian lovers and six amateur actors, all controlled and manipulated by a warring fairy King and Queen. The play runs November 17 through December 31 at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood at the edge of the NoHo Arts District.

BWW Reviews: The Engeman 'Produces' a Sensational PRODUCERS
I want to express the deepest gratitude to the director, Igor Goldin, for not directing his actors into a corner with this show. Each and every person onstage had a story to tell, and not just some façade to put on: a worry I typically have when viewing a comedic musical. Even each member of the ensemble had fantastic individuality and characterization that it makes one wonder whether an ensemble needs to necessarily “blend together” – which, in fact, is quite difficult not to do when the show decks out its actors in outrageous costumes that make Betsy Johnson and Alexander McQueen look (I won't be forgetting you, anytime soon, Sausage Dress…). Though, it's the joint effort between the lead players and supporting players that create magic on that stage, and this cast did just that.

A cast of six will lead the reading of Wendy Beckett's Off-Broadway - bound production of ALL MOD CONS. This new play, directed by Evan Bergman is the fifth in a series of Ms. Beckett's plays that will be brought across the pacific from Australia by Pascal Productions. The reading takes place on Monday, April 21, at 4PM at Primary Stages Studios (307 West 38 Street, Suite 1510) and is open to the public by reservation only. For tickets, please contact adamgm@kefproductions.com. Additional casting is soon to be announced.
