New Play Reading Series Tackles Gender Identity And Family Acceptance at Pioneer Theatre Company
Pioneer Theatre Company begins its eighth season of the Play-by-Play New Play Reading Series with a reading of The Anatomy of Love a play in development by New York-based playwright Ted Malawer. The readings will take place at the Dumke Auditorium of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. There will be a talkback directly after the 2:00 p.m. matinee.

The complete cast, including visiting cast with Broadway credentials and returning local actors, has been announced for Pioneer Theatre Company's Concert Production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is based on the wildly popular 1988 MGM comedy that was a hit film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine. The concert-style production runs just three performances, over October 18 & 19, 2019, and is an add-on to PTC's 2019-2020 season.

The 2019 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with one special award and three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Drama Desk Award-nominated writer and performer of The New One, Mike Birbiglia. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.
