Battery Dance will celebrates the 42nd Anniversary of its free summer festival from August 12-18, 2023, in partnership with Battery Park City Authority. The 42nd Annual Battery Dance Festival will feature in-person and live-streamed performances staged each night at Rockefeller Park, Battery Park City, New York City at 7PM ET, with a rain date on 8/19.
International Puppet Fringe Festival Reveals Complete Programming Schedule
International Puppet Fringe Festival has announced its complete programming schedule, set to take place August 9 –13, 2023 in the Lower East Side. As the only international festival dedicated to puppetry, it is organized by Teatro SEA, Grupo Morán (The Morán Group) and The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Education Center.

League of Independent Theater to Hold Rally for Endorsed 2017 Candidates
The League of Independent Theater (LIT) will hold a rally for the candidates they've endorsed in the 2017 New York City election races on Tuesday, May 23 at 1pm on the steps of the Kraine Theatre at 85 E. 4th St in Manhattan. Many of the candidates chosen participated in LIT's Meet the Candidates forum in March, also at The Kraine Theater. Some of the candidates expected to attend the rally include:

The Whalephant intertwines the story of two Massachusetts men, past and present: Moses Spouter, a famed and possibly unhinged Nantucket whaling captain; and his great-great grandson, Abe Spouter, day-drunk and proud and generally pissed, who captains a whale-watching boat off the coast of Cape Cod.
