OH WHAT A LOVELY WAR Coming to Birmingham Rep Next Month
One of the most famous shows of the last century, Joan Littlewood's legendary musical Oh What A Lovely War is to come to Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Directed by University of Birmingham graduate, Terry Johnson, the hit revival comes to The REP from 5 to 9 May, as the final venue the show's UK tour.
BREAKING: Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik Set to Lead FLASHDANCE Tour!
Broadway stars Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik will star as "Alex" and "Nick" in the world premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. Padgett and Hydzik will be joined on stage by the legendary Rachelle Rak in the role of "Tess." Sergio Trujillo, director and choreographer for the production returned to the home of FLASHDANCE and launch of the world premiere, Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall, to announce the lead casting from a press conference. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Kevin McMahon, CEO of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, were also on hand to welcome the cast and creative team to Pittsburgh and to make a proclamation, naming January 1, 2013 as FLASHDANCE DAY. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary,FLASHDANCE kicks off a national tour January 1-6 at Heinz Hall and continues on to more than 20 cities with additional bookings to be announced:

FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, will perform at The Fox Theatre from February 5-10 as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2012/2013 season. The show's producers were planning on moving the production directly from Toronto to Broadway. Due to scheduling issues, the Broadway production has been postponed until the spring.

FLASHDANCE- THE MUSICAL to Launch National Tour in Pittsburgh in 2013
FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that will play Broadway in Fall 2012, will launch the national tour with an additional company on January 1, 2013 at the Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, the steel town that serves as the show's setting. FLASHDANCE will go on to play over 25 markets in North America. Additional cities and tour casting will be announced in the coming months.

Willis & Hamilton-Barritt to Lead West End FLASHDANCE
Matt Willis and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt will lead the cast in Flashdance The Musical, which opens in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre this autumn. Previewing from 24 September 2010 with Gala night on 14 October, Flashdance The Musical is currently booking until 26 February 2011. Press preview performances are Monday 11 October at 7.30pm, Tuesday 12 October at 7.30pm, Wednesday 13 October at 7.30pm and Thursday 14 October at 7pm, with reviews embargoed until Friday 15 October 2011.
UK's FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL to Tour US?
FLASHDANCE is currently touring the UK and is expected to transfer to the West End next year after the tour closes. Sources reveal that the producers are so confident with the successful production that they are planning to tour it around the states as soon as 2009.
