BIO
Christine Sang: Director/Choreographer/Actor/Writer. Original and Returning Choreographer of Open Fist Theater Company production of THE DEAD. Also with OFTC: TRAVESTIES. Sang teaches theater at Fordham University-Lincoln Center, NYC, and also lives in Los Angeles. She danced internationally, touring with Phillip Glass and Robert Wilson, and at Lincoln Center’s Koch Theater. Choreography/Directing/Acting including: The Public Theater-NYC, HERE, the Ice Factory, La MaMa, HIGHWAYS, Dixon Place, the Atlantic, Mark Taper Forum, as Guest Artist in Italy, an alumna of Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab and Drama League New Directors/New Works, New Zealand Directors Fellowship, in numerous short films, and with Neal Young’s cows. Current project: Public Art installation with two Austin artists. AEA/SAG/AFTRA

Composer Lisa Bielawa and director Charles Otte are nominees for their work on VIREO: The Spiritual Biography of a Witch's Accuser, the first episodic made-for-TV & online opera. Bielawa is nominated in the Creative Technical Crafts – Composer category and Otte's nomination is forOutstanding Director – Programming.

VIREO: THE SPIRITUAL BIOGRAPHY OF A WITCH'S ACCUSER Opera Pilot to Be Broadcast Online and On TV, 2/23
On February 23 and 24, 2015, the pilot episode of composer Lisa Bielawa's serial opera Vireo: The Spiritual Biography of a Witch's Accuser will be videotaped at The Yost Theater in Santa Ana (307 North Spurgeon St.). Two taping sessions, each of a different scene from the opera, will be open to the public, free of charge, at 7pm on February 23 and 5pm on February 24 (limited availability, online RSVPs are required at http://bit.ly/RSVPVireo).Vireo's 25-minute pilot episode will air on March 31, 2015, and will feature the Kronos Quartet, mezzo-sopranoLaurie Rubin, the San Francisco Girls Chorus, the Orange County School of the Arts Middle School Choir, mezzo-soprano Maria Lazarova, baritone Gregory Purnhagen, drummer Matthias Bossi, and in the title role ofVireo, 16-year-old soprano Rowen Sabala.
