The Broad Stage Announces Live and In Person Programming for Fall 2021

The Broad Stage has announced three live and in person attractions for fall 2021 – starting with the West Coast Premiere of the new opera Birds in the Moon, co-commissioned by The Broad Stage, for four outdoor performances in Santa Monica September 1 through 4.

Aurora Theatre Company Receives 33 BATCC Nominations

The Bay Area Critics Circle Award nominations are in and Berkeley's Aurora Theatre Company, now celebrating its 20th season, garnered 33 nods for the company's 2011 productions, the most of any company in its theater tier in the Bay Area. Top honors included nominations in the Drama category with recognition going to A DELICATE BALANCE, METAMORPHOSIS, THE ECCENTRICITES OF A NIGHTINGALE, and THE SOLDIER'S TALE. Aurora Artistic Director Tom Ross received two nominations for direction, as well as a co-directing nomination with Muriel Maffre. The 33 nominations are a record number for Aurora, the most nominations received during the company's 20 seasons.

BLIND THOUGHTS is set in suburban New Jersey and outlines the hunt for a serial killer known as Tally Mark who leaves his victims with tally marks cut into their bodies as a taunt to the detectives referring to the growing number of murders. There will be a premiere private red carpet screening on October 27 at Times Square Arts Center in New York.
