Christie Chiles Twillie is a Chicago based Music Director, Piano Conductor, Sound Designer and Composer. Regional Theatre credits include Skylight Music Theatre - Five Guys Named Moe, Newsies , and The Gospel at Colonus; Porchlight Music Theatre - Minnies Boys, as well as the northwest suburban premier of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (LZP Productions), The Last Five Years (Big Noise Theatre), and A Little Night Music and Sweeney Todd (Devonshire Playhouse). Christie earned a BTA nomination for Best Music Direction for her original score for Yellowman (Fleetwood Jourdain Theatre). She was one a 2019 inaugural recipient of Porchlight Music Theatre's Rachel Rockwell Fierce Women Behind the Table Award for Music Direction. In 2019 she was also Footlights Winner for Best Musical Direction for a Professional Production (Five Guys Named Moe at Skylight) and a 2018 Broadway World Finalist for Best Music Direction for Big Fish: The Musical (Big Noise). Christie also composed original scores for In The Red & Brown Water (Northwestern University); and the scored and sound designed the short film, Alone. In 2013, Christie created her music production company, Music for Theatre CHICAGO. The companys most recent project, HOMELAND 24: The Peoples Play' is based on a three-part novel series she wrote. The theatrical version based on the first book was also written, directed and scored/sound designed by her. Christies Bachelor and Masters studies were in Piano Performance at West Virginia University. Prior to working in musical theatre she performed as a concert pianist, orchestra pianist and chamber musician. From 2016-2020 she served as President of the Chicago Area Music Teachers Association. Christie is member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians Local 10-208 A.F.M.
