BIO
Christie Burgess is a proud regional actor with a career gracing many of the Midwest's most successful stages. A BFA Acting graduate from UW- Stevens Point and a past student of the legendary Second City in Chicago, she's performed with Marriott Lincolnshire, Music Theatre Works, (formerly Light Opera Works), Skylight Music Theatre, Metropolis Theatre, Scoutshine Productions, and many more. Favorite roles include: Fantine (Les Misérables), Pam Lukowski (The Full Monty), Demeter (CATS), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Rona Lisa Peretti (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Hope Cladwell (Urinetown), Regina Giddens (The Little Foxes), Christine Colgate (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Peep-Bo (Hot Mikado), and Diana/Maggie Sanders (Lend Me a Tenor). With an extensive career in educational theatre as a director, performer, and administrator, she continues working with numerous schools in the Midwest due to the outstanding benefits it has on young students and audience members. She's proudly worked with Northbrook Theatre for Young Audiences, and Skylight Music Theatre's education productions, including their famous annual KidsWrites productions. Married with two children, she is an advocate and blogger documenting her experience as a parent continuing to perform.
