BIO

Christian Sineath has started 2018 performing in the workshop and talk-back of STROGOFF: A New Musical. In March, she made her Off-Broadway debut in QUEEN ESTHER, playing the principal role of Zeresh, followed by performing in the ensemble of BROADWAY BACKWARDS on the Broadway stage of the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City in April. Upcoming projects in NYC include LOVE, ROSE at HB Studio Theatre, Cinderella in INTO THE WOODS, and David Lang's MILE LONG OPERA.

Recent performances included a musical tribute to producer Hal Prince as part of The Actors Fund Gala, which also honored Danny DeVito and Sally Field, and several private events as a soloist. In September of 2017 she performed the role of Susan in Sondheim's Company  in New York City. Christian was cast in Oscar nominee James Spione's film, Silenced, where she portrayed Jesselyn Radack, an ethics advisor for the US Department of Justice who exposed illegal FBI practices during the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan.  Other performances included a cabaret at 54 Below with the cast of Broadway's Kinky Boots, a Master Class and solo recital at Berry College in Georgia, and an orchestral soloist feature at First Presbyterian Church in North Carolina.

Raised in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, Christian Sineath has been performing since the eighth grade. She continued performing in regional and community theatre throughout high school, and then completed degrees in Music Performance and English at Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina. During her undergraduate studies with James Smith, she was a frequent 1st and 2nd place winner in the regional and state level NATS competitions in both the classical and musical theatre categories. She was also a member of the Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center.

After graduation, Ms. Sineath moved to New York City, performing professionally in oratorio, musical theatre, and theatre productions. She continued her studies in Lucca, Italy with Cincinnati Conservatory of Music's Opera Studio program. She was accepted into the prestigious Manhattan School of Music and fulfilled her graduate degree in Classical Voice.

She joined Dicapo Opera as a Resident Artist, performing the role of Clorinda in La Cenerentola, the cover of Rosabella in The Most Happy Fella and in the chorus' of Tosca, Iolanta, The Most Happy Fella and La Traviata. After a glowing review in The New York Times, The Most Happy Fella was remounted and recast for a limited return engagement and Christian performed the lead role of Rosabella for multiple performances and was reviewed by Classical Source.  Additional Resident Artist roles include the main stage productions of Puccini's Passion, which include excerpts of Anna in Le Villi, Musetta in La Bohème, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, and Lisette in La Rondine, Constanze Weber in the world premiere of Marrying Mozart (co-produced by Opera Moderne),  and Giannetta in L'elisir d'amore. The National Lyric Opera featured her as a soloist in the orchestral concert "Italian Opera's Greatest Moments" and she performed in the chorus in their production of Pagliacci in April. The following summer, she sang the role of Brigitta in Tchaikovsky's Iolanta with Opera Slavica in New York City; she was also featured in their Russian Opera Scenes Concert.

Ms. Sineath studies voice with Mike Ruckles, acting with Patrick Page, and has been coached by Betty Buckley, Rob Berman, Jeanine Tesori, and Sheri Sanders in New York City. Kathy Olsen at Encompass Arts is her manager, and her other interests include cooking, fine art, literature, and fitness and nutrition.
