Two dozen multi-talented award-winning artists from the Indie Collaborative will be coming together to celebrate Earth Day in song.

At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs.

On Saturday, May 4 at 7:30 pm, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will continue its highly touted Jazz Masters series with the Gerry Malkin Jazz Collective, renowned artists who have been called a 'quintessential... group that plays top-notch music' with pedigrees that 'run deep in the jazz hierarchy.' Led by Malkin on tenor sax, the distinctive post bebop sound of the Collective interprets music of the classic era of mid-twentieth century jazz from Miles Davis to John Coltrane. The group will play at WCT's Black Box at 23 Water St.

Almost 10 years ago, now Tony and MAC nominated Corinna Sowers Adler made her debut with a highly acclaimed cabaret entitled 'Stories'. On Sunday, April 22, at 4:30pm, she will bring the show concept back to The Triad Theater on West 72nd Street, in a new version entitled 'Second Stories' which features the story song works of some of today's most beloved composers like Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, Kurt Weill, Ira Gershwin as well as some lesser known surprises by Phil Hanseroth, Adam Gwon, Meg Flather, Garry Novikoff and many others.
The New Lionel Hamption Big Band with Jason Marsalis Are Headed to the MAC
The McAninch Arts Center (MAC) is pleased to present a free concert by The New Lionel Hampton Big Band with Jason Marsalis, Saturday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. This incredible band featuring world-class musicians who played with the legendary Lionel Hampton will perform a memorable mix of jazz, swing and bebop. This concert was originally scheduled for the Lakeside Pavilion this past summer as part of the WDCB LIVE Jazz Concert Series but was cancelled due to the impact of poor weather on the band's air travel. The rescheduled concert is presented in partnership with WDCB 90.9 FM Public Radio from College of DuPage. There are no advance reservations. The box office will begin to hand out tickets at the MAC day of show, starting at 2 p.m.
