Birth Place: New York
Chris Ruggiero takes his audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll, breathing new life into timeless classics. Chris has been described as an “old soul," whose approach to his concert appearances is more in line with that of a bygone era than it is the artists of his generation. What Michael Buble did for the swing music of the 40s, Chris Ruggiero is doing for the pop-rock generation that followed.
Chris first came to national attention when he performed in concert on one of PBS-TV’s coast-to-coast broadcast specials, which still airs to this day. Since then, Chris has been traveling around the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll, including sold out shows in Las Vegas, Cleveland, Florida and New York. If there’s any doubt that what he’s doing is resonating with audiences, his Facebook page has reached over 60 million people last year.
Chris has released 4 full-length albums since 2021 including “I Am Chris Ruggiero” which features original arrangements from legendary arranger Charlie Calello on pop classics such as “Wouldn’t it Be Nice,” “My Cherie Amour,” “The More I See You” and “This Magic Moment.” Calello has had over 100 national records as an arranger and producer, having worked with Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Glen Campbell, to name a few. (In an interview that followed, Calello compared Ruggiero’s approach to song interpretation to that of Sinatra.) Chris followed with “Quiet Nights,” an album featuring only his voice and the masterful pianist Christian Tamburr.
Chris’s album “Christmas with Chris Ruggiero” led him back to national television appearances, including “Good Morning America,” as well as wide-spread radio airplay. Chris is receiving critical acclaim for his solo work as well as his duet on “Grown-Up Christmas List” with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love. The album also features a collaboration with world renown trumpeter Wayne Bergeron on “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
Chris’s tour has already hit 87 towns and cities and he’s headlined in Las Vegas 15 times but he says his favorite part of it all is meeting the audience after each show.
