BIO
Chris was first introduced to theatre in high school. After graduating with his BFA from Pace University in New York City, he performed on and off-Broadway in shows including COMPANY (understudy for Stephen Colbert, working alongside Christina Hendricks, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jon Cryer), AVENUE Q, SPAMALOT, and the Broadway National Tour of SISTER ACT. After moving back to LA, he pursued television and comedy, becoming a Main Company member of the historic improv and sketch comedy theatre The Groundlings. He developed his idea for the Roger Bastion character in the film RE-OPENING while performing as Olaf in DCA’s Frozen: Live at the Hyperion for four years. He currently has almost 800,000 followers on TikTok, where he acts out Facebook Marketplace Nightmares. In 2020 he Co-Founded “thisishardtoread” productions and is the co-founder of Oddity Improv in Tennessee, the premier theater and school for learning character-based improv and sketch.

A frequently consistent scene-stealer on The Groundlings stage, Michael Churven takes the directorial reins offstage to deftly guide his amazingly funny cast of six (Samantha DeSurra, Chris Guerra, Ariane Price, Mary Scheer, Annie Sertich and Alex Staggs) to an evening of hilarity in GROUNDLINGS MIX TAPE. In a limited four-week run of Fridays and Saturday nights, GROUNDLINGS MIX TAPE features a Best of Sketch selection from past shows with a rotating cast. As in The Groundlings tradition, the writer of a particular sketch usually takes the lead, while the others give their all in support, in true ensemble form.

From the producers of the Emmy(R)-award winning MTV show, this eight-episode series follows adults, not teens, as they embark on a mission to transform their life, highlighting both the challenges and accomplishments they face throughout their journey of being MADE. CMT MADE will air in its regular Thursday night one-hour timeslot at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT, beginning Thursday, August 25.
