State Theatre New Jersey Presents THE WIZARD OF OZ
State Theatre New Jersey presents The Wizard of Oz for three performances on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 7:30pm and Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2pm and 7:30pm. Featuring the classic songs, as composed by Harold Arlen, "Over the Rainbow," "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead," and "If I Only Had A Brain." Tickets range from $35-$98.
BWW Review: THE WIZARD OF OZ National Tour at North Carolina Theatre
Based on Victor Fleming's 1939 film musical of the same name as well as L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel, The Wizard of Oz (of course) follows Dorothy Gale, a young girl who lives on a farm in Kansas with her dog, Toto, until a cyclone arrives, picks up her house, and blows them away to the land of Oz. Things in Oz are strange and beautiful, but Dorothy just wants to go home. She's helped by the Good Witch of the North, but she's also in trouble with the Wicked Witch of the West, who seeks revenge for the death of her sister; the Wicked Witch of the East, for which she blames Dorothy.

On February 7th, Dorothy, Toto, and all of their friends made a stop in Jackson, Mississippi on their way to the Emerald City. In addition to the young lady wearing the famous blue-checkered dress and ruby slippers on the stage, there were at least a dozen miniature Dorothys scattered throughout the audience in the auditorium of Thalia Mara Hall. The theater was packed with audience members of all ages who had come to experience the nostalgia and magic of the beloved movie musical The Wizard of Oz on stage.
