BIO

Carmack was born December 22, 1980 in Washington, D.C. After graduating high school, Carmack attended New York University to pursue an Arts degree at the Tisch School. He left NYU after he was discovered by a modelling scout and decided to have a go at the profession.

After two years working as a model in New York City, Carmack decided to move to Los Angeles and immerse himself in acting. He is best known by global audiences as Luke on the first season of The O.C., but did not continue because producers couldn't guarantee him airtime in the upcoming year.

In 2006, Carmack starred in the movie Lovewrecked with Amanda Bynes and Jonathan Bennett and decided to hone his acting skills in the theatres of New York and London.

From 16 March - 21 May 2006 Carmack starred in the Off Broadway production of Entertaining Mr. Sloane at the Laura Pels Theatre. The play, directed by Scott Ellis, also featured Tony Award nominees Alec Baldwin and Jan Maxwell. The latter left the production early due to friction with co-star Baldwin.

In 2006 Carmack made his London stage debut in a rare revival of Tennessee Williams' "Summer and Smoke", a play unperformed in London for 55 years. Carmack starred opposite Rosamund Pike and was directed by former Royal Shakespeare Company artistic director Adrian Noble. It played the Apollo Theatre from 21 October - 25 November 2006, failing to complete its scheduled run.

BWW Review: Broadway Vets Shine in Delightful, Star-Studded INTO THE WOODS at the Hollywood Bowl

An inspired choice of a show, the Hollywood Bowl has decided to present an effervescently buoyant new production of the Tony Award-winning 1986 musical INTO THE WOODS, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's much beloved twisted take on traditional fairy tale stories mashed together with witty charm, tongue-tying lyrics, and gallows humor. Directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom, this enjoyable, sublime production is exquisite and thoroughly delightful from start to finish---much of which can be attributed to its top-notch, musical theater-trained cast that includes Tony Winners Sutton Foster and Patina Miller giving exceptional acting and singing performances alongside theater favorites Cheyenne Jackson, Skylar Astin, Sierra Boggess, Hailey Kilgore, and Stranger Things breakout star Gaten Matarazzo. The show continues with two additional evening performances July 27-28, 2019.
