Chet Carlin recently played Maurice in The Night Alive. Prior to that, he played Juror #9 in “12 Angry Men at Florida Rep and the Old Actor in The Fantasticks at the Forestburgh Playhouse (He played Col Pickering in My Fair Lady there the previous Summer). He played Ralph in The Last Romance at the Ivoryton Playhouse. Other recent work includes Klinglehof in Steve Martin’s The Underpants” at the Florida Studio Theatre, Erronius in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach. Favorites include Abbé Faria in The Count of Monte Cristo at Alabama Shakespeare and Candy in “Of Mice and Men at the Cleveland Playhouse. In the Spring of 2013, I appeared with Paul Austin in Vaclav Havel's brilliant play "Protest" at the Liberty Free Theatre.
He played Erronius in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach.
In Feb. 2012, he appeared in Colin Greer's "Imagining Heschel" at the Harold Clurman Lab Theater in NYC, playing Cardinal Augustin Bea, an advisor to Pope John XXIII.
In 2011 he appeared in "Tennis in Nablus" the wonderful new play by Ismail Khalidi at Stageworks in Hudson, NY.
In 2011 he directed Eugene O'Neill's "Hughie" at the Liberty Free Theatre. Prior to that he played Erronius in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" at The Paper Mill Playhouse.
He also appeared Off Broadway in the American premiere of J.B. Priestley’s "The Glass Cage." Other recent work includes playing the Abbé Faria in "The Count of Monte Cristo" at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Candy in "Of Mice and Men" at both the Cleveland Playhouse and Studio Arena in Buffalo. I appeared on Broadway in Gore Vidal’s "An Evening With Richard Nixon" and, later, as a nervous lawyer opposite Henry Fonda, in "First Monday in October." National tours include "Fiddler on the Roof" starring Theodore Bikel and "Dial 'M' for Murder" starring Roddy McDowall. I also toured in Sir Peter Hall’s production of "As You Like It" starring Sir Peter's daughter, Rebecca Hall. Favorite roles include the title role in "King Lear" at theJan Hus Theatre in NYC, Thomas More in "Man for All Seasons" at the Egg in Albany, NY, and Scrooge in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Television includes "Return to Lonesome Dove," all the "Law & Order" shows and most of the soaps.
