Cherie Bebout started singing at the age of 3. Her parents had met in the theater and wrote original dramas she performed in with her family as a small child. She grew up listening and singing country and southern gospel music as well as being classically trained. She signed to her first manager in NY at age five and began doing various print work and commercials. At the age of 10 she was a junior vocalist on Star Search and also performed with Rosemary Clooney on her White Christmas concert tour. Her theater credits include playing the role of Annie in "Annie" - Amaryllis in "The Music Man" both at the Jupiter Theater - Mary Lennox in "The Secret Garden" at the Paper Mill Playhouse - Pat "Tomorrow the World" (stage reading) at Paper Mill Playhouse - Zoe "Just One World" at Musical Theater Works and the Narrator in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." In 2002 Cherie moved to Nashville and went back to her roots singing and writing country music. She performed as a backup singer for Carrie Underwood in 2005-2006 and is currently on tour Gretchen Wilson. She married musician Mark Oakley and now goes by the name Cherie Oakley.
