Ars Lyrica Houston Presents Houston Premiere Of SAN GIOVANNI BATTISTA

The Grammy nominated Ars Lyrica Houston ensemble performs the Houston premiere of Alessandra Stradella's oratorio, San Giovanni Battista on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 7:30 pm in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Artistic Director Matthew Dirst leads the Ars Lyrica core ensemble and vocal soloists Sherezade Panthaki (soprano), Jay Carter, (countertenor), Joseph Gaines (tenor), and Sam Handley (bass) in the oratorio based on the death of John the Baptist.

A., I am reporting on an historic event in which I participated at St. Luke's Theatre on March 26th, 2018 in NYC: the 40th-year anniversary and reunion of the cast members of the opening of Tony Award-Winning Bob Fosse's DANCIN' on Broadway at The Broadhurst Theatre on March 27, 1978.
Bebe Neuwirth Hosts DANCERS OVER 40 Reunion Of Original Cast Of DANCIN

Tony Award-winning actress BEBE NEUWIRTH will host the 40th Anniversary and reunion of the original cast of Bob Fosse's DANCIN' on March 26th at 7 PM at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC. The evening, presented by Dancers Over 40, will feature members of the original Broadway cast as well as others that joined the show during the run. Ms. Neuwirth appeared in DANCIN' during the final four months of the Broadway engagement.
Bob Fosse's DANCIN' Original Cast Members to Hold Panels to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

DANCIN' opened on Broadway on March 27, 1978 and ran for four years, and was Bob Fosse's only all-dancing and all-singing musical. To mark this historic event, Dancers Over 40 will assemble a spectacular 'once-in-a-lifetime' panel of original cast members almost exactly to the day of their 1978 debut - March 26, 2018, 7pm at St. Luke's Theater, 308 West 46th Street.

Moran Katz Wins Houston Symphony's 2013 Ima Hogg Competition

Performing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major, 28-year old Israeli clarinetist Moran Katz won the 38th annual Houston Symphony League's Ima Hogg Competition on Saturday, June 1 at Rice University's Stude Concert Hall. Katz's first place win earned her a Gold Medal, the solo spotlight at Jones Hall with the Houston Symphony at the Houston Chronicle Concert on July 13 and the Grace Woodson Memorial Award of $25,000. The cash prize was increased from $5,000 to $25,000 in this year's competition, thanks to a generous gift of Symphony patrons John and Tracy Dennis. In addition to the top prize, Katz also won the $1,000 Herman Shoss Audience Choice Award and the $1,000 Robert and Nancy Peiser Award for Artistic Encouragement, which was selected by members of the Houston Symphony.
