Harlem School Of The Arts Unveils its Transformation
Work on the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) $9.5-million-dollar Renaissance Project, underwritten by legendary award-winning musician/philanthropist, Herb Alpert and the Herb Alpert Foundation, was completed on time and on budget, it was announced by HSA Board Chair Charles Hamilton, Jr. Over the past decade, HSA has received over $17 million dollars in financial support from the Herb Alpert Foundation, and that includes this latest gift.

This year's Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) Masquerade Ball and After Party, an annual benefit gala in support of the 54-year-old arts organization, surpassed expectations once again by raising over a million dollars, for the second year in a row. The event was held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, and was hosted by Fox 5's very own, Lori Stokes who shared the podium with co-host, 9-year-oldJayden Hairston, one of HSA's outstanding student ambassadors.

In this centenary year of the end of World War 1, writer and producer, Breon Rydell, has been determined that the life and work of WW1 Scottish poet, Charles Hamilton Sorley will not be forgotten. It Is Easy To Be Dead, Neil McPherson's beautifully written and significant play opens at The Tivoli, Aberdeen on Tuesday 6 November and will be followed by performances at Òran Mor, Glasgow from Sunday 11 to Wednesday 14 November.

Akin to a Las Vegas show, We 3 Kings works dynamically as a showcase for its 3 artists: Luca Ellis, Shawn Klush and Brandon Michael Jones, especially for Jones, currently considered the premiere tribute artist of Michael Jackson. Now onstage at the El Portal in NoHo through New Year's Eve, it's enjoyable fare for those of us who grew up with and lived through the music of all three. Frank Sinatra (Luca Ellis) was the King of Swing of the 40s on up, Elvis Presley (Shawn Klush) the King of Rock and Roll in the 50s and Michael Jackson (Jones) the King of Pop commencing in the 60s as the tiniest member of The Jackson 5 (Jacquez Shanigan).

'I Have a Dream' -- four words that helped change the course of American history. ABC News and Yahoo! News will host a first-ever live global broadcast on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's March on Washington and his iconic 'I Have a Dream' speech. This hybrid digital-television event will be anchored by George Stephanopoulos along with Dan Kloeffler from ABC News World Headquarters in New York beginning at 11:00 a.m., ET.

Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, will join Oprah Winfrey at Harvard University for the official launch of the Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) on Wednesday, February 29th, 2012. Oprah will appear alongside Lady Gaga as she formally unveils BTWF before a crowd of policy makers, non-profit organizations, foundation leaders, students and youth at the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Askwith Forum.
