Rajiv Joseph's Comic Drama ARCHDUKE Comes to TheatreWorks
TheatreWorks Silicon Valley presents the Northern California premiere of Archduke. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph, Archduke explores how one man, one moment, can derail an entire century. Focusing on the cataclysmic 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo, three hapless insurgents embark on a darkly comic quest for immortality and purpose, unaware that their actions will launch World War I.
LA STAGE Alliance Hosts LA STAGE Talks, Now thru 8/6
LA STAGE Alliance has announced this year's LA Stage Talks, a series of panel discussions moderated by LA STAGE Alliance CEO Terence McFarland, exploring various aspects of the creation of performing arts in the Southern California region. The premiere event, co-hosted by Southern California Public Radio KPCC, will take place tonight, March 19 from 7:00-8:30pm, at the Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena.

From composer and lyricist Ben Toth and Sam Forman and book writer Jeff Arch, Sleepless In Seattle - The Musical, will be directed by Lonny Price, with Eric Stern as musical director, in its premiere at The Pasadena Playhouse in June, 2013. Ben Toth and Sam Forman to Write Music for SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE Musical
According to Deadline.com, Ben Toth and Sam Forman have signed on to write the music and lyrics for the Broadway-bound SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE Musical. Previously announced Lonny Price will direct the show, which is set to have its world premiere at The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Charles Dillingham, Interim Executive Director) in June, 2013.

Pasadena Playhouse's PREMIERE GALA: DESTINATION is Tonight, May 19
The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Charles Dillingham, interim Executive Director) previously announced that the "best party in Pasadena" annual fundraiser entitled PREMIERE GALA: DESTINATION would be held at the private home of Playhouse Board member Stephen Bennett and his wife Chantal Bennett in San Marino tonight, May 19, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. This year's event will honor two "jewels" - Playhouse Board Chair Michele Dedeaux Engemann and The Pasadena Playhouse. Gala Chair Sheila Grether-Marion and The Playhouse Board of Directors will be spearheading this gala event which will sparkle with cocktails, a seated dinner catered by The Kitchen For Exploring Foods, dancing and live entertainment provided by Wayne Foster.
The Pasadena Playhouse Announces Executive Director Search
The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Charles Dillingham, Interim Executive Director) announced today that it will commence its national search for a new Executive Director. Arts Consulting Group (ACG) President, Bruce D. Thibodeau and The Playhouse's Search Committee, led by Playhouse board members Stephen Bennett and Brad King will guide the process.
Full Cast Announced for South Coast Rep's JITNEY, 6/21-7/15
The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Charles Dillingham, interim Executive Director) and South Coast Repertory, announced today the full casting and creative team for JITNEY. Single tickets are also now on sale to the public. South Coast Repertory's (SCR) production of August Wilson's JITNEY, directed by Ron OJ Parson with an all-star cast led by Charlie Robinson, will transfer to The Pasadena Playhouse immediately following its SCR engagement. Performances will begin June 21 through July 15, with an official press opening on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 5:00 p.m at The Pasadena Playhouse.
Nearly 30,000 Hours Volunteered by The Friends of The Pasadena Playhouse in 2011
The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Charles Dillingham, interim Executive Director) announced that The Friends of The Pasadena Playhouse presented a memento check in the amount of $701,991.08 representing the monetary value of 29,974 hours volunteered in 2011. The check was presented at The Friends annual Volunteer Recognition event on March 8, 2012, and is on display in the Georgia McClay Friendship Center at The Playhouse.
