BIO
Charisma Glasper is a native New Yorker and a performer & passionate wellness advocate. In recent work, Charisma plays lead actress in short film “Mercury Afrogarde” & made her television debut as Jordanna on Netflix series “Russian Doll” (produced by Natasha Lyonne and Amy Poehler). Charisma appeared as a feature performer in Sundance Film Festival Speakeasy (2021). Television credits also include: “Gossip Girl” (2021), “Prodigal Son” & “Succession.” Recent commercial credits include Alice & Olivia, Telfar Global & Kenneth Cole. With more time to create her own work, Charisma premiered her first solo installation, What Time Took, at this year’s Chashama Art Gala: Enliven NYC; her work consists of creating rooms & spaces that feel like sanctuary for peace & reflection. Extending her passion for movement arts & holistic wellness into teaching, Charisma works to ensure Arts & Wellness programming remain in NYC schools & LGBTQ+ communities. Pronouns: She, They.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today that due to positive COVID tests in the company, all performances of On Sugarland by Obie Award winner Aleshea Harris (Is God Is, What to Send Up When It Goes Down) have been cancelled through Sunday February 20, 2022. Performances will resume Tuesday February 22.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today a change to the performance schedule for On Sugarland. Previews, which were set to begin on Wednesday February 2, 2022, will now start on Thursday February 3 to allow the team more time for technical rehearsals. The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance kicks off its fall season with the BlakTinX Performance Series from October 19 to November 20, 2018. This annual multidisciplinary festival inaugurated in 2002 celebrates art and performance by Black, Latinx and artists of color. The festival's opening weekend features a dance tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. BAAD! is located in a neo gothic style building at 2474 Westchester Avenue.
