Historic North Theatre Goes Green; Presents Irish Fiddler Michael Burke, 3/17
In addition to hosting an Irish show, the Historic North Theatre has also gone "green" when it comes to conservation and recycling. The majority of the lights throughout the theatre have been refitted with compact fluorescent bulbs or other energy conserving bulbs. Metal, paper and plastic are also recycled after all of the shows. The stage crew has even been able to reuse some set pieces for different shows.
On Monday, March 17, St. Patrick's Day, at 8:00 PM on the main stage, world famous Irish Fiddler Michael Burke will perform in concert. He has been called Ireland's most lyrical fiddler. At the forefront of traditional music for over 30 years, he is known for his highly individual style--vibrant, expressive, relaxed, and, at times, humorous. He is well known to international audiences for his work with superlative Irish groups, from the Bothy Band to Patrick Street and Celtic Fiddle Festival.
