Renowned for his versatility as a performer, American baritone Cedric Cannon is equally at home on the operatic, musical theater and concert stages. Cedric has just returned from The O'Neill Theater Conference where he performed a Balozi in the workshop production of "Goddess", Cedric appeared as a soloist with the New York Choral Society at Carnegie Hall, and with the Israel Kibbutz Orchestra. Since his professional concert debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, He has appeared with The Filarmonica De Montevideo, Uruguay. The Illinois Philharmonic, The Dayton Philharmonic, The Amarillo Opera, Teatro Regio di Parma, the Polish Radio Orchestra as well as the Oakland, Savannah, Springfield, Santa Rosa, Eastern Connecticut, Saskatoon Canada and the Reykjavik Iceland Symphonies. He has also appeared as a guest soloist at the Pushkin Festival, Moscow. Mr. Cannon performs regularly with pianist Leon Bates, and wife, La-Rose Saxon, in concert performances of Gershwin on Broadway and Gershwin by Request. Mr. Cannon's combined talents have been seen on the musical theater stage throughout North America, Asia and Europe. He had the honor to portray G_d in Paul Dicks PASSAJJ production of Moses, My Love and has just completed filming Ben Donellon's independent film "Know your Logic" in the role of Principal Barry. He played the roles of Hamilton Lightfoot/Menuki in the off-Broadway Production of In Dahomey, opposite Shirley Verrett with The New Federal Theater. Other theater credits include his role of Old Deuteronomy in Cats in Hamburg(Stella Productions), Germany, Pish-Tush in the Mikado (NYGAS), Husky Miller in Carmen Jones, Billy Bounce in the New York premiere of Leroy Jenkins' jazz opera Three Willies (Providence Productions), The Governor and Innkeeper in the National Tour of Man of LaMancha (Park Avenue Productions), and starred as the Pirate King in the Pirates of Penzance (NYGAS). Cannon made his Broadway debut as Sir Sagramore in the Music Fair Productions revival of Camelot. He has performed with the Oakland Opera Company's productions of The Barber of Seville, Madame Butterfly and LaBoheme. Cedric performed with the San Francisco Pocket Opera where he debuted the title role of Eugene Onegin, Caspar in Der Freischutz and the role of Lord Cecil in Mary Stuart. Mr. Cannon has performed in productions of Porgy and Bess with the Houston Grand Opera in the role of Jake, with the Grand Rapids Opera, Edmonton Opera, Carolina Opera, New Orleans Opera and New York City Opera in the role of Crown, Metropolitan Opera in the role of Robbins and sang his first Porgy at the Frankfurt Opera. Since then he has sung the role of Porgy throughout North America, Great Britain, Ireland, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Cannon's television and film credits include The Slap, Blind, Seven Lovers, Good Funk, Moon and Sun, Old 37, Know Your Logic,The Viral Demon, Raw Nerve, Cosby, Oz, Jon Benjamin Has a Van, All My Children, As the World Turns and Another World.
