Two BIPOC Theatre Companies Collaborate With NYPD to Present New Play
This is an unprecedented collaboration in theatre. New Professional Theatre and Blackberry Productions have partnered with the New York Police Department (NYPD) on the COPP Project. Commonalities, Opposites, Partners, Peace (COPP) is a project that will demonstrate what a powerful tool theatre can play in healing and transforming disparate communities. The play has been developed through personal interviews and facilitated workshops with youth and police officers.
Palace Theater Announces A Table Reading Event Celebrating Womens History Month
The next program in the new Table Reading series presented by Gracewell Productions at the Palace Theater, is slated for Sunday, March 27 at 2:00pm. The theme of this reading, supported in part by Timothy W. and Mary Ellen Rourke, is Reflections on the Voices of African-American Women, presented through four one-act plays in celebration of Women's History Month.
Table Readings Debut This Month At Palace Theater Waterbury
The Palace Theater is unveiling an exciting new initiative when Table Readings at the Palace Theater debuts on Saturday, October 16, 2:00pm in the intimate Poli Club space. The October 16 reading is Kate Katcher's The LIttle SIsters of Littleton and features Emmy Award winner Dorothy Lyman ('Mama's Family,' 'All My Children') and Sachi Parker ('Peggy Sue Got Married,' 'Back to the Future,' 'Scrooged') .Â

To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of 9/11 the Palace Theater is unveiling a new initiative, Table Readings at the Palace Theater, presented by Gracewell Productions, with the reading of Five Bells for 9/11, a moving one-man play written and performed by New York actor Rich Swingle.
New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month With Readings
On March 13 and 20, 2021 New York's New Federal Theatre (NFT) will present 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month,' a retrospective readings series in which significant plays from the '80s on generational issues in Black women's lives will be recreated by noted actors and directors. The readings will be free and accessible from NFT's website, https://www.newfederaltheatre.com.
