Portland favorite Nick Cearley returns to The Armory to reprise his role as a fictional shop-boy in Barbara Streisand's real-life shopping mall in Jonathan Tolins' hilarious comedy Buyer & Cellar. Cearley (Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors) has performed the play across the country, playing Alex More - the out of work actor who says yes to a mysterious job and ends up in the basement of a legend - along with the rotating cast of characters who fill Alex's life, including Barbra Streisand.
A CHRISTMAS MEMORY and WINTER SONG To Open At The Armory
A Christmas Memory and Winter Song, the two-show pairing BroadwayWorld called "warm, nourishing, and just exactly what you want on a cold winter's night," returns to Portland Center Stage at The Armory. The production brings Truman Capote's beloved holiday story together with a gorgeous collection of winter songs, stories, and memories created by Brandon Woolley and Merideth Kaye Clark. A Christmas Memory paired with Winter Song begins preview performances on Nov. 24, opens on Nov. 30, and runs through Dec. 30 in the Ellyn Bye Studio. Woolley returns to direct, while Clark (Elphaba in the First National Tour of Wicked, Cathy in The Last Five Years at The Armory) and Leif Norby (Astoria: Part One and Two at The Armory) reprise their roles.

Nat DeWolf (Broadway: Take Me Out) will make his company debut as the astrology-loving and hopelessly single Nate Martin. It will be directed by Jane Unger, Profile's founding artistic director, and marks the first full (double!) season for Profile's ambitious new Artistic Director Josh Hecht, as well as the third year of the Diversity and Inclusivity Initiative.

EVERY BRILLIANT THING Runs 9/23- 11/5 at The Armory
Local favorite Isaac Lamb will take the stage for Every Brilliant Thing, a play that tackles the impact of depression using a life-affirming list and a partly-improvised structure that engages audiences in a way never before seen at The Armory. Created by British playwright Duncan Macmillan with comedian Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing began as a short-play-turned-art-installation before becoming a full-length theater piece that was embraced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Off-Broadway, and adapted into an HBO movie. Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan will direct Every Brilliant Thing in the round in the Ellyn Bye Studio the first studio show in Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 30th anniversary season.
