Carolyn Rossi Copeland has spent her career discovering and nurturing talent and fostering artistic collaborations. Her work has taken her through out the world. She has served as Producing Artistic Director of The Lamb’s Theatre Company in New York City and as Vice President of Creative Affairs for Radio City Entertainment and Madison Square Garden Productions. She is an Independent Producer who also serves the Executive Producer of Strouse IP, the company that produces and licenses the works of the award winning composer Charles Strouse. She oversees the negotiations and licensing of Broadway Productions, National Tours and International Tours and special events.
She is an honors graduate from Tulane University. She was employed by the Honorable Peter W. Rodino, Jr. as a Congressional Assistant on Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. Ms. Rossi Copeland left Congressman Rodino’s office to embark on a new venture in New York City, the creation The Lamb’s Theatre Company.
She built the company into a multimillion-dollar business. Her creative vision propelled the company into the New York City cultural scene as a major not for profit arts institution. Carolyn served as artistic director of several national and international tours (Russia, Belarus, Japan, and South Korea).
Ms. Rossi Copeland was selected by Madison Square Garden/Radio City Entertainment to oversee the unique and sensitive task of the re-opening of The Scarlet Pimpernel on Broadway. This production made Broadway history as the first musical to be re-written and re-cast while still running on Broadway. She also oversaw the national tour and a third move on Broadway. She was promoted to Vice-President of Creative Affairs for Radio City Entertainment and oversaw the development of new theatrical projects and all star casting for: A Christmas Carol , The Wizard of Oz .She created and conducted a national publicity star search for the role of Dorothy and created a program for the development of young dancers as potential talent for The Rockettes. She was also a Creative Consultant to The Gaylord Group, which owns and operated The Grand Ole Opry and The historic Ryman Auditorium.
Ms. Rossi Copeland is also a special events producer. She produced and directed the Governor and First Lady’s Inaugural Family Celebration. She volunteered her time to create and produce the first youth Christmas Celebration in the Republic of Belarus and directed the international tour of KRINCHKA a Belarusian Children’s Choir, which toured the U.S. in memory of the Chernobyl explosion.
Carolyn is the recipient of Drama Desk and Obie nominations and awards and is a member of several professional organizations.
She has been an active Board Member of The New Harmony Project- a developmental writers conference, The Cherry Lane Theatre Mentor Project and The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. She also served a four year term as a publicly elected trustee on the Garrison Union Free School Board. She is married to architect James Masson Copeland, a principal of the firm Hudson Design. She and her husband are the parents of four fantastic girls: Margaret, an actress and comedian, Beatrice, a budding film producer, and twins Marion and Eugenia both in college.
