Carolyn Reese Crotty is a Nebraska native. She moved to NYC at seventeen to pursue a career in the theatre. While in Manhattan, Carolyn studied acting with William Esper. On a visit to California, Carolyn was cast in the Laguna Playhouse production of Eugene O’Neil’s “Ah, Wilderness,” which propelled Carolyn to make LA her home. While in California, Carolyn has also performed at The Boston Court in Pasadena, The Stella Adler, The Odyssey Theatre, Classical Theatre Lab, Sacred Fools, EST LA, The Celebration Theatre, Moving Arts, Theatre NEO, among others. TV/Film: Carolyn played Mrs. Ito (Peggy York), in the Emmy winning TV miniseries “The People v O.J. Simpson, American Crime Story,” and has co-starred on ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder,” and in Showtime’s “Shameless,” and "Masters of Sex.” She had the lead role in AFI’s short film “The Black Dog,” and in “The Good Neighbor,” another short that went on to screen at South by Southwest. Carolyn has had supporting roles in the feature films “Merrily,” “Shiner,” and “A little Inside.” She has done print ads for Mercedes and Microsoft. Carolyn is also an acting teacher to young adults and teaches in NOHO and in Santa Monica at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences. She is a proud graduate of UCLA with a degree in Women’s Studies & English.
