Shakespeare's Globe Announces Full Cast of MACBETH
Shakespeare’s Globe has announced the full cast for the 2022 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of Macbeth, directed by Sarah Frankcom. This marks Sarah’s directorial return following her tenure as Artistic Director of LAMDA.
The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.
Maisie Williams to Star in THE OWNERS
It was announced that Maisie Williams is set to star in the 90's-set thriller THE OWNERS, directed by Julius Berg, with a screenplay by Berg and Matthieu Gompel, based on comic book from renowned artist Herrmann and written by Yves H. The film is produced by Alain de la Mata at UK-based Bluelight, and executive produced by XYZ Films. XYZ will handle North American sales with Versatile handling international at the upcoming EFM in Berlin. The film will shoot this spring in Kent, close to London, in an isolated Victorian mansion, with casting by Dan Hubbard.

The Athena Film Festival (AFF) at Barnard College announced today its film slate, including opening night, closing night, and centerpiece films, as well as additional programming for the 2019 festival. The ninth annual festival, co-founded by the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College and Women and Hollywood, will take place February 28 to March 3, 2019, at Barnard College in New York City. The Toronto International Film Festival® unveiled today the 12 feature films that comprise the Platform lineup for 2018, marking a year rich in distinct voices and assured directorial efforts that address difficult subject matters unflinchingly.
