Hope Muir, Joan and Jerry Lozinski Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, announced today The National Ballet of Canada's RBC Apprentices will give a free performance at Union Station's West Wing in Toronto, as part of Fall for Dance North's INFLORESCENCE on Saturday, May 27 at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm ET.
Juventino Rosas, el primer mexicano que logró con su música reconocimiento internacional
Tenía sólo 26 años cuando el compositor mexicano Juventino Rosas, originario de Guanajuato, murió el 9 de julio de 1894 en Batabanó, Cuba, cerca de La Habana, a causa de una enfermedad hepática. Sepultado en la isla caribeña, su lápida tenía la siguiente inscripción: “La tierra cubana sabrá conservar su sueño”. Se reconocía así al joven músico, autor de polkas, valses, danzas y marchas, que habría de alcanzar la inmortalidad con su célebre vals Sobre las olas.

DUSK DANCES proudly presents its 24TH annual season. Dusk Dances is a renowned and beloved outdoor dance festival presented at Withrow Park each August. This year, for the very first time, a Guest Curator was invited to program the Withrow Park event: Michael Caldwell. Dusk Dances 2018 features some of Canada's top choreographers and dancers, including Peter Chin, Allison Toffan Carmen Romero, Karissa Barry, and Tina Fushell, in a diverse program of dance featuring contemporary, flamenco, tap, Bharatanatyam, and West African forms and styles.
