Carmen de Lavallade first appeared on Broadway in Harold Arlen and Truman Capote's House of Flowers. After a long career in dance, Carmen joined the Yale Repertory Theater in the 60's where she performed in productions of Macbeth, Julius Caesar, and Midsummer Night's Dream, as well as taught movement for actors. Theater credits include: Othello (Roundabout Theatre Company); House of Bernarda Alba (Pearl Theatre Company); Blood Wedding (Intiman Theatre); Three Sisters (Classical Theatre of Harlem); Step-Mother by Ruby Dee (Ensemble Studio Theatre) and Post Black by Regina Taylor (Ensemble Studio Theatre). She is presently a member of the dance company Paradigm.
