Arts on Site to Host The Benjamin Briones Ballet
Arts On Site (AOS) has announced their April performances, featuring dance, music, and film in the heart of the East Village at Studio 3R, 12 St. Mark's Place, NYC. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online here. The Benjamin Briones Ballet comes to Arts on Site on Thursday, April 14, 2022 and Friday, April 15, 2022 at 6:30pm & 8:30pm. The Benjamin Briones Ballet will present varied draft works by choreographers Nellesa Walthour, Beatriz Madrid, Carlos Dos Santos, and Benjamin Briones, all celebrating the art of dance.
BWW Review: YAGP Final Round and Gala Shone More Brightly Than Ever in 2018
The eagerly anticipated 2018 NYC Final Round and Gala of Youth America Grand Prix were the best I've seen in all my years of covering YAGP. On the evening of April 18th at the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center, the technical prowess as well as the beyond-their-years artistry of the competitors in the Final Round gave credence to YAGP's slogan: “Ensuring the Future of Dance”.
Boston Ballet Promotes Three Principal Dancers
January 19, 2016—(Boston, MA) Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen has announced three promotions from within the Company: Paul Craig (USA) and Irlan Silva (Brazil) have been promoted to soloist, and Alexander Maryianowski (USA) has been promoted to the corps de ballet from Boston Ballet II (BBII), Boston Ballet's second company. The Company is comprised of 68 dancers—including nine dancers in Boston Ballet II (BBII)—representing 20 nationalities. Nissinen continues Boston Ballet's tradition of developing a strong, versatile company by cultivating talent from within the Company and Boston Ballet School and recruiting from all over the world.
CUNY Dance Initiative Sets 2016 Residencies
The CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), a university-wide residency program heading into its third season, is awarding 23 dance companies/choreographers residencies at 12 CUNY colleges in 2016. CDI, led by New York City's public university system, is a new model for collaboration. By facilitating residencies for New York City choreographers and dance companies on CUNY campuses, CDI aims to support dance artists, enhance college students' cultural life and education, and build new audiences for dance at CUNY performing arts centers.

Boston Ballet Announces Dancer Promotions, New Associate Director for New Season
Boston, MA—Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen has announced the 2015-2016 season roster, featuring 11 new dancers and six promotions from within the Company. The Company will be comprised of 68 dancers—including 10 dancers in Boston Ballet II (BBII)—representing 20 nationalities. The full company has returned to its 19 Clarendon Street studios in preparation for the 2015-2016 season.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2015 Lincoln Center engagement kicked off with a star-studded Ailey Spirit Gala on Wednesday, June 10th. The one-night-only benefit performance and party honoring the Ford Foundation and sponsored by FedEx featured supermodel and actor Tyson Beckford as Honorary Chair. Gala Co-Chairs were Gina F. Adams, Ricki Lander, Almaz & Marc S. Strachan, Pamela Zilly & John Schaefer and Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach, and the Vice Chairs were Michele & Timothy Barakett, Dr. N. Anthony & Robyn Coles, and Leslie & Tom Maheras. The evening's program (subject to change) will include Virtues (Amy Hall Garner, 2012), Doscongio (Robert Moses, 1998), Rusty (Benoit-Swan Pouffer, 2012), and Revelations (Alvin Ailey, 1960).
