CARLOS ARMESTO (Director) is the Producing Artistic Director of Theatre C, a company dedicated to creating hybrid theatrical experiences. He has worked as a director and producer on festivals, plays, musicals, concerts, and events around the country. Mr. Armesto was Associate Artistic Director at The Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) and was Co-Director for the EST/Sloan Project, a program that creates plays about science and technology. He is also a recipient of the Bill Foeller Fellowship at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and a Princess Grace Fellowship.
In 2008 he founded Theatre C (theatrec.org). Through that company, he has created several notable works including KINGDOM (Best Musical 2009 – The Star Ledger), Jesse Zaritt’s BINDING at Performance Space 122 (Outstanding Choreography, Solo Performance, Performance Art Piece - 2010 Innovative Theatre Awards), THE WHO’S TOMMY (Best Director of a Musical 2010 – The Star Ledger), DISORIENTED (Princess Grace Special Project Grant), SPRING AWAKENING, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, ECHOES OF ETTA (Joe’s Pub – TimeOut NY Critics Pick). Other notable directing credits include STANDBY and MADAME INFAMY (NYMF), and LOUIS ARMSTRONG JAZZ AMBASSADOR (New York Children’s Theatre).
