Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Presents ELF THE MUSICAL!
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center will be presenting the family classic holiday show ELF THE MUSICAL from December 14 a?" 29, 2019 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Avenue, Simi Valley CA 93065. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Additional performances will be December 18 and 19 at 8 pm and Saturday matinees at 2 pm on December 21 and 28, 2019.

BWW Review: ASSASSINS Musically Explores the Minds of Those Who Attempted to Assassinate the President of the United States
The great genius of contemporary musical theater, creator of Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods and Company, Stephen Sondheim leads audiences on a tuneful revue of presidential assassins and would-be killers from John Wilkes Booth to John Hinckley. The performance is guided by the Proprietor (brilliantly portrayed by Will Shure) who takes you through a most unusual musical history lesson in the form of a carnival game called "Shoot the Prez - Win a Prize" during which the sounds of each era accompany riveting portrayals of history's most impassioned and deranged. Thought-provoking and darkly delightful, ASSASSINS won five Tony Awards in its first revival on Broadway and remains one of the most controversial Broadway musicals ever written.

BWW Review: IN THE HEIGHTS Brings the Joy of Love and Family Traditions to Energetic Life on the Streets of Washington Heights
Much like the much-loved musical "Fiddler on the Roof," IN THE HEIGHTS focuses on family love and traditions being challenged by the beliefs of the next generation. In our modern world where a good education can make all the difference, what does it take for a poor family to put a cherished only child through an expensive university? And what happens when the student cannot keep up and drops out and gets romantically involved with someone her parents don't think is good enough? And what happens when a neighborhood is challenged by urban renewal and its flavor is about to be lost? Can it be saved when local shop owners must leave their beloved neighborhood when rents rise?
