Carla Della Gatta is a dramaturg and offers workshops on bilingual and semi-bilingual productions as well as casting workshops for theaters and entertainment companies. Carla created, built, and manages the only living archive of Latinx theatrical adaptation. www.latinxshakespeares.org
She is an active member of the Latinx Theatre Commons Steering Committee and she has served on the Governing Council for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE). She is Associate Professor of Theatre Scholarship and Performance Studies at University of Maryland. Her monograph, Latinx Shakespeares: Staging U.S. Intracultural Theater (University of Michigan Press, 2023), explores how Latinx culture is constructed dramaturgically and textually in recent Shakespearean adaptations and productions. She co-edited Shakespeare and Latinidad (Edinburgh University Press, 2021). I
Carla has worked as a scholar for the theater for Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Public Theater, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Shakespeare Center Los Angeles, Folger Theatre, and Victory Gardens Theater.
