Review: CRY IT OUT Delivers the Laughs at Capital Stage
Just in time for Mother’s Day, Capital Stage has revealed a play that is perfect for celebrating mothers. It also happens to be my favorite of their offerings to date. Cry it Out, by Molly Smith Metzler, tackles an important conversation that often gets overlooked, and does it with insight, grace, and a whole lot of humor.
BWW Review: Jane Austen's NORTHANGER ABBEY Opens the 75th Season at Sacramento Theatre Company
What better way to kick off the fall season and Sacramento Theatre Company's (STC) 75th season than with a satirical homage to Gothic romance? Jane Austen's first completed novel, Northanger Abbey, is the much-anticipated opener of this season of Decades, Divas, and Diamonds. Local playwright and actress, Carissa Meagher, has adapted this book especially for the STC stage and even cleverly included a role for Jane Austen, herself.
BWW Review: STEEL MAGNOLIAS Brings Laughter Through Tears at Sacramento Theatre Company

Steel Magnolias is a lesson in the opposite-the power of positive female relationships. A celebration of strong women and set in a beauty parlor in 1980's Louisiana, the story centers around six women who share laughter, conflict, and unimaginable grief.
