There’s unfortunately little about the current tour of 'Little Women' that will bring this show new audiences. It often feels like the purpose of the musical may be more to tell the sisters’ love stories than to tell the story of their love for each other, and the production choices for this tour do little to save it from its lackluster material.

What did our critic think of LITTLE WOMEN THE MUSICAL at Reynolds Performance Hall? It was another sold out show at Reynolds Performance Hall, 223 Beatrice Powell St., in Conway, Friday, Feb. 16, for LITTLE WOMEN THE MUSICAL. With Book by Allan Knee, Music by Jason Howland, and Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, this Louisa May Alcott classic, told through song and dance, entertained generations of March sister fans.Â

What do you get when you take a fiercely determined young woman, her three vastly different but equally loyal sisters, an imagination that can create whole operatic tragedies in the space of an old attic? Little Women the Musical, which made a stop at Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson, Mississippi on February 6th. The second in the Broadway in Jackson season presented by Trustmark, the show brought to life a story beloved by generations and set it to music. Presented by Big League Productions, Inc., the production itself ran the entire gamut of emotion in just a couple of hours.

From a field of 12 local high school students, Shaila Essley, Philip Patrick Bucknor and Wayne R. Mackins-Harris have been selected to represent Los Angeles in the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) national finals. Contestants this year featured high school students from four Southern California cities, who performed in the regional finals at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, Monday night, March 2, 2015.
